Winners announced for Wirral Business Awards 2019

The business community in Wirral is celebrating following the return of the Wirral Business Awards 2019.

The winners of the prestigious event were named on Friday 21st June at a glittering stage show held at New Brighton Floral Pavilion and attended by over 400 of the region’s leading business people.

Organised by Mills Media Creative in partnership with Wirral Chamber of Commerce, and supported by headline sponsors, Progress to Excellence Group Ltd and Russell Taylor Group, the event is one of the largest and most impressive held in the region.  It highlights the outstanding innovation and enterprise by companies and individuals across the spectrum of Wirral’s business community. 

Speaking about the award winners, Paula Basnett, CEO of Wirral Chamber of Commerce, said, “This is an amazing night when the very best businesses in the region come together to celebrate their success and achievements. This year’s Awards have welcomed a record number of entries from a rich diversity of sectors; a diversity that has gained Wirral a reputation of excellence both nationally and internationally.”

Hosted by BBC presenter Dan Walker, thirteen awards were handed out to leaders, innovators and rising stars. Amongst the successful organisations to receive winning recognition were PharmaPac, Caffe Cream, Claire House Children’s Hospice and The Contact Company.

Alan Thompson, Managing Director of hi-impact consultancy said, “We are very proud to be part of the vibrant Wirral business community.  It is both an honour and a privilege to win the 2019 Digital, Creative & Technology Award and I want to personally congratulate our team for their outstanding performance and dedication.”

Teledyne CML Composites’ General Manager John Toner stated, “What a fantastic evening.  The return of the Wirral Business Awards was long overdue.  Winning the Manufacturing Business of the Year Award is thrilling for our company. Our expertise is now recognised both nationally and internationally.  Wirral is certainly the place to be located.”

And Business Development Manager, Julie Jones from JD Engineering commented, “A lot of hard work has gone into getting JD Engineering to this point and it is a credit to the team that we have won tonight. Thanks to everyone who has made the show  so special.”

The event also held a special raffle, raising over £1,100 for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.  Prizes were kindly donated by Andrew Collinge, Arriva NW, Edge & Sons, Fazenda, Floral Pavilion, Leasowe Castle, Park Group, Progress to Excellence, Royal Liverpool Golf Club, SDS Rejuvenate, Smylies, Stiebel Eltron, The Village Hotel, and The Wheatsheaf Cowshed Restaurant.
