Arriva North West and Wales has teamed up with Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse Theatre to offer a dementia friendly version of Paint Your Wagon in July. Arriva has donated 300 free tickets for people living with dementia and their carers, for this relaxed performance on Tuesday 3 July at 5.30pm.
During the specially adapted show, lights will be only slightly dimmed, stage lighting is less intense, and sound is lowered where needed. People are free to move around and make noise, extra staff are on hand, and a chill-out area is provided front of house. Show goers can also visit beforehand to get their bearings if required, and a pre-show information pack is made available to ensure carers have all the information they need.
Paint Your Wagon is a musical filled with infectiously energetic and effortlessly beautiful songs, including I’m On My Way, There’s a Coach Comin’ In and chart-topping Wandrin’ Star – a song made famous by Lee Marvin’s rendition that reached number one in 1970…keeping the Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’ off the top spot! So it is sure to jog many happy memories for the audience.

“We welcome individuals and groups living with conditions such as dementia or anyone who could benefit from a more informal, relaxed environment. We are delighted to have Arriva’s support for this production, which has meant that 300 tickets will be available free of charge.”
