International law firm Hill Dickinson has been recognised as one of the UK’s 100 most popular employers for school leavers in the UK’s first and largest employer ranking product aimed at school and further education students.

The top 100 list reveals the most popular UK employers as voted for by 9,000 school and further education students in years 10-13.

Hill Dickinson recruits 10-12 legal apprentices annually across its Liverpool and Manchester offices. Apprentices join the firm as trainee paralegals on a two-year structured training programme, combining on-the-job training while studying towards the nationally recognised CILex Level 3 in Legal Services Diploma.

From day one, apprentices are involved with preparing legal bundles, drafting legal documents and other file-progression tasks while embarking on their own personal development programme to enhance their soft skills including negotiating, influencing and problem solving.

Commenting on the firm’s inclusion in the top 100 list, Managing partner, Peter Jackson said: “We’re incredibly proud of this recognition. We place great emphasis on nurturing young talent and the apprentices we recruit play a key role in the future of the firm. Our apprenticeship scheme offers school leavers with a fantastic opportunity to start their career in law straight away, combining a mix of practical work and learning.”

Sarah Pickerill, head of HR and development at Hill Dickinson, added: “We’re delighted to have been named as one of the UK’s top 100 employers for school leavers, especially as it was voted for by the apprentices themselves. Following the great success of our legal and HR apprenticeship programme, we will be broadening the programme to cover other areas of the business later this year and hope to offer additional apprenticeships in other areas such as IT and marketing.”

Hill Dickinson is currently accepting applications for its fifth intake of legal apprentices. For further information on the firm’s trailblazer apprenticeship programme, visit the apprenticeship pages of the website. Applications close on 30 June 2016. Apply online.
