The Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards has announced its shortlist for the People’s Choice Award, selecting the top ten businesses from the public vote.
The shortlist includes The Beatles Story, the world’s largest permanent exhibition dedicated to the life and times of The Beatles and the popular Knowsley Safari Park, which covers five miles and offers visiters the opportunity to spot an array of wild animals.
Faye Calvey, front of house manager at Signature Living Hotel on Stanley Street is the only individual nominated. She has been with the company for five years, initially joining the hotel as a housekeeper.
Yukti Restaurant and The Art School are also nominated, along with Hot Water Comedy Club.
Following the announcement, the awards are calling out for more votes to select the ultimate winner.
Cathryn O’Grady, managing director of Eventful, the company delivering the event, said: “We are looking for people to vote again for the companies from the short list that have excelled over the past year.
“There is a real cross section of businesses selected, from visitor attractions and experiences to restaurants and bars. We were overwhelmed with the response to the vote and the appreciation people feel for all of the nominated businesses. This is a great opportunity for people to reward the region’s tourism stars.”
The winner will be announced alongside 16 other categories at the ceremony, which is hosted by the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, on 19th May.
The glittering award ceremony is due to take place at St George’s Hall as over 550 movers and shakers from the region gather to celebrate the amazing work that has taken place across the Liverpool City Region tourism industry over the past 12 months.
