Robert Hough awarded CBE at Buckingham Palace

Robert Hough, Chair of Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), attended an investiture at Buckingham Palace on 15 May 2015, where he received a CBE for services to business in the North West from His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales.

Robert said: “The investiture at the Palace was a wonderful and moving experience, and created a memory of a lifetime.

“I am delighted by the award of this honour. My whole career has been spent in the North West during which time I have been privileged to contribute to many great projects with talented and committed colleagues.

“The last three years as Chair of the Liverpool City Region LEP has been particularly stimulating and I look forward to continuing the fantastic work we are doing across the City Region.”

Previously, Robert has held a number of different posts, including Board Member of the Northwest Regional Development Agency in 2007 and became Chairman of the Agency in 2009 until 2012. He was also a member of the North West Business Leadership Team from 2000-2009 and its Chairman for over three years until 2003. Robert was also Chairman of the Organising Committee of Manchester’s Commonwealth Games  from 1995-1999 and Mayor of the Games Village in 2002 and Chair of the Urban Regeneration Company for New East Manchester from 2002-2009. Robert was previously a Board Member of the Learning & Skills National Council and a Member of The Northern Way Steering Group.

Robert is currently a Member of the North West Regional Leaders Board and Transport for the North Partnership Board.
