Liverpool Convention Bureau has announced that Convention Bureau Manager, Carol O’Reilly, is set to leave the organisation in September 2012.

Carol, who joined the destination team in 2007, played an instrumental role in helping to set up the Liverpool Convention Bureau, relocating to Liverpool to fulfil the role. In her five years with Liverpool Convention Bureau she has established a range of Convention Bureau services including accommodation booking, social programme planning and a delegate welcome programme for key events.

Carol will be replaced by Kate Currie who has been at the bureau for over four years and will take the role of Interim Convention Bureau Manager. Previously a Conference Manager, Kate has exceptional relationships with Liverpool’s partner venues as well as attracting and managing the high profile conferences and association events hosted in the city.

Carol O’Reilly, Liverpool Convention Bureau Manager, comments: “Having been with Liverpool Convention Bureau for a number of years I have been privileged to see the city develop into a leading destination, win many accolades and add many hotels and venues to its portfolio. I feel the time is right for me to move on and know that Kate will continue to be a valuable asset to the bureau and the city”.

Kate Currie adds: “Carol has been a real force for positive change within the bureau and Liverpool as a whole. I look forward to carrying forward her influence and ensuring that Liverpool remains the leading conference destination in the UK, with outstanding service, facilities and experiences for all delegates. The next few months will be an exciting time for the city with many new developments and investments set to take place and I look forward to my new role within this”.
