We are working with our partners in academia, business, industry, the third sector, and both local and national government, to ensure the Liverpool City Region remains productive, competitive and innovative, as we work towards our carbon reduction commitments of net zero by 2040. Clean Growth sees opportunities for skilled jobs and investment across all sectors, especially transport, construction and energy creation and distribution, while protecting our environment for future generations. The UK is a world leader in carbon reduction and renewable technologies, with the Liverpool City Region at the heart of that success. The UK low carbon economy is expected to grow by 11% over the coming decade – 4 times faster than the rest of the economy – and is on track to deliver up to £170 billion of export sales in goods and services by 2030. The Liverpool City Region wants to remain at the heart of that opportunity. The Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership sub board for Clean Growth has members from key sectors of our region’s economy, academia, business and industry. It’s focus is to ensure we have skills training in place to help existing business grow, as well as new businesses as they develop, create an attractive environment for investors and help develop the pathways for economic success within this expanding sector.
