[post_content] => The National Infrastructure Commission was established to change the way we plan and deliver major infrastructure projects in this country. As part of that work the Commission will publish a National Infrastructure Assessment (NIA) – a once a parliament, 30-year strategic assessment of the UK’s infrastructure requirements over the coming 30 years.
The NIA will be a world first in size and scope – assessing economic infrastructure within, across and between geographies and sectors. As it develops, Commissioners are undertaking a series of events across the country to discuss and understand local perspectives on the strengths and weaknesses of the UK’s national infrastructure and the requirements and opportunities to improve efficiency and competitiveness over the coming three decades.
The Commission will be visiting Liverpool on Thursday 15 December 2016 and Commissioners are keen to meet with representatives of businesses, academia and infrastructure providers and users from across the North West region for a roundtable discussion to outline the role and work of the NIC, and understand the views of local stakeholders. This is your chance to influence the Commission as its work progresses and gives us the opportunity to set out the infrastructure requirements and opportunities across the North West.
The meeting will take place at the Liverpool City Region LEP Offices, 12 Princes Parade, Liverpool L3 1BG starting at 12:15pm until 2.00pm.
