[post_content] => Liverpool City Region Combined Authority want to get more disabled people into jobs, we know you may share the same commitment with the hundreds of other City Region employers. Together with Jobcentre Plus, the Metro Mayor is launching a call to action to persuade more employers to sign up to the Disability Confident campaign. This will be held at Everton FC’s Blue Base on Friday 23 November, 9am to 11:30am.
Disability Confident is designed to help employers like you, improve how you recruit, retain and develop disabled employees. Over 360 city region employers have already signed up and the number is growing daily. All local authorities in the City Region, together with all the main government departments are signed up. We hope that your organisation can join those if you have not already done so.
Disabled people make up almost 20% of the working age population, many being highly qualified individuals. We understand that employers can be reluctant to employ disabled people, but they risk missing out on a valuable pool of talent. At our Employer Disability Confident Event on Friday 23 November, we would like to show you how much they have to offer your business.
There are many myths about disabled people taking more days of sick, costing money to have work place adjustments and creating a fear of discrimination claims. All these assumptions are incorrect. Join us to hear why they are wrong and listen and talk with employers who can explain the support that is available, the steps they have taken to help disabled people enter and progress at work, and the benefits their businesses have gained as a result.
