The Liverpool City Region Skills Capital Investment Fund operated between 2014-2016 and invested c.£21.5m to support skills capital investments as part of our Growth Deal with Government.

The Fund supported over 30 projects to provide new and improved learning facilities for local people to train in the skills needed by employers. This included skills facilities for: digital, low carbon, maritime and logistics, advanced manufacturing, visitor economy, life sciences and healthcare; and financial and professional services.

A £1.5M fund for Low Carbon Skill Capital Investment has endowed regional Further Education Colleges with the capacity to understand their energy usage and cost data, and implemented a first round of energy saving measures including low energy lighting and building services upgrades.

The Fund is now closed to new applications. Any future funding for skills capital will be via the Single Investment Fund
