Tate Liverpool opened in 1988 and welcomes over 600,000 visitors per year, making it one of the most visited galleries in the UK. With two free floors dedicated to displaying works from Tate’s collection alongside major temporary exhibitions, Tate Liverpool aims to increase visitor’s knowledge and enjoyment of modern and contemporary art. Utilising Tate Liverpool’s exhibitions and Tate’s collection as a starting point for learning, we aim to offer a dynamic public programme that seeks to engage with all ages, widening participation and access to art throughout the city and region. Tate Liverpool’s shop sells a wide range of specially selected books, magazines, exhibition merchandise and products of local interest. Our café features a dazzling commission from Sir Peter Blake and offers dishes inspired by local ingredients, homemade cakes and coffee by Tate. Being situated on the historic Royal Albert Dock, we offer a variety of unique and architecturally interesting corporate event spaces, which are available for hire. With exceptional on-site catering, the ability to access our exhibitions and the option to have a talk from an experienced visitor assistant, hosting an event at Tate Liverpool is a truly memorable experience.
