Liverpool City Region LEP responds to IPPR North’s report Paying for Our Progress published today (Monday 20th February, 2017)

Welcoming today’s report from IPPR North Asif Hamid, Interim Chair of the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) said: “The report published today is a timely reminder that more needs to be invested in connectivity within and between our northern city regions to enable us to unlock our economic potential.

“The fact that transport spending in London is nearly three times that for the North West clearly highlights the need for a co-ordinated approach to ensure the roll out of a pipeline of new infrastructure across the North. The LEP has always stressed that securing investment in our infrastructure is a key priority, highlighted in our Growth Strategy. Liverpool City Region has the potential to make a massive contribution to the economy of the North and the wider UK. Further investment in physical and digital connectivity is key to realising that potential and to the transformation of our economy.”
