This competition (delivered by Innovate UK on behalf of DCMS) is part of a wider £40 million government investment in IoT announced in March 2015. The ambition for this demonstrator is to show how a large scale deployment of IoT can offer compelling benefits to citizens’ lives through environmental improvements, economic opportunities, and the more efficient and effective delivery of services such as transport, healthcare and energy. Bids for the demonstrator require a number of partners to form a consortium including, but not limited to, one or more local authorities, the LEP, an incubator and businesses with expertise in the IoT field. The Liverpool City Region are holding a stakeholders’ meeting on Monday 10th August at 10am to allow anyone interested in contributing ideas, time and expertise to register their interest, ask questions about the demonstrator bid and discuss methodology for a bid.  The agenda will be released shortly and there will be also an opportunity for participants to network and discuss the proposals with the LCC and LEP teams. Anyone who wants to be kept informed must register as a stakeholder, even if you are unable to attend on the 10th.
